The 56th Medical Group optimizes performance and ensures medical readiness of the human weapon system for the largest fighter wing in the USAF. The 56 MDG provides comprehensive medical care to 5,500 uniformed personnel and 92,000 beneficiaries by promoting health, maintaining wellness and minimizing the impact of illness. The Primary Care clinics, Surgical Services, and Behavioral Health Flights support more than 140,000 ambulatory visits and 500 surgeries annually. The 56 MDG is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. With almost 500 assigned personnel, the 56 MDG has a three-pronged mission that emphasizes providing great health care, promoting safety and wellness, and military readiness. We strive every day to fulfill our mission, which is to deliver trusted care to all we serve.

THe 56 MDG is comprised of these squadrons:

56 Operational Medical Readiness Squadron

Prepares wing personnel to deploy in support of global missions. Provides aeromedical support for members in nine fighter squadrons, and medical care for all active duty personnel at Luke Air Force Base. Promotes wellness and provides medical, dental, mental health and optometric care for 5,500 military personnel and other beneficiaries. Ensures quality occupational and community environments through proactive public health and bioenvironmental programs.

56 Health Care Operations Squadron

Provides comprehensive medical care to 23,000 enrolled beneficiaries by promoting health, maintaining wellness and minimizing the impact of illness. Delivers specialty medical care to 5,500 uniformed personnel ensuring optimal performance and ensure medical readiness of the human weapons system for the largest fighter wing in the USAF. The Family Health, Medical Services, Clinical Services and Surgical Services Flights support more than 140,000 ambulatory visits and 500 surgeries annually

56 Medical Dental Support Squadron

Ensures ready fighting forces by providing administrative, financial, data analysis, management and therapeutic services essential to health promotion and healthcare for 5,500 military personnel and 85,000 eligible beneficiaries. Prepares wing personnel for expeditionary operations to support global missions. Supports 194,000 annual patient visits in an integrated $100 million managed care environment.
