The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military hospital remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. Health Services

Optometry

The 56th Medical Group Optometry Clinic provides routine and emergent vision care for active duty personnel. Retired military members are eligible to order standard-issue spectacles at no cost with a current and valid Rx.

Walk-in Services

Walk-in services are available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Walk-in Services include:
  • Visual Acuity (PHA/IMR/ASIMS updates)
  • Deployment Out-Processing
  • Color vision
  • Flight Line Driver’s Licenses
  • Spectacle repair
  • Spectacle/Insert ordering (with a valid Rx within the last 12 months)

After Hours

All after-hour emergencies please report to the nearest Emergency Room.
